How do I book an appointment?

In order to book an appointment, please fill out the booking form in the website. Thankfully, I have an assistant, Jasmin, who helps me with my bookings. You should expect an email from her in no more than two business days. She will respond to you with the soonest available date, deposit information, and any questions or answers we might have. Please leave reference photos in the email thread.

In order to confidently schedule appointments, I take a nonrefundable $100 deposit. My preferred payment method for deposits is through Zelle. My Zelle account can be found under “Emma Carr, (623)606-2638”. If the tattoo requires multiple appointments, the deposit will go towards the final appointment.

Where are you located?

I am located at Yours Truly Tattoo in downtown Mesa, Arizona.

May I see the tattoo design prior to the appointment?

I do not provide designs ahead of the appointment time. All designs are drawn the week or day of the appointment. There will be time at the beginning of the appointment for minor changes to the design.

Can I use numbing cream in preparation for the appointment?

Sure, but you probably don’t need to. I personally haven’t had any issues with folks using numbing cream, so you can do so if you desire. However, my personal tattoo application is not an especially painful process. I also have a numbing spray that I always offer during the tattooing process.

What if I need to cancel the appointment? Can I get my deposit back?

Deposits are non-refundable. If you need to reschedule, I ask for 48 hours notice. If you’re unable to request a reschedule at least two days before the appointment, you will have to leave another deposit for the new appointment. I’m fairly understanding, and really don’t want to have to pocket a deposit, but reserving a chunk of time in my schedule is valuable. Without enough notice, I may not be able to fill the spot.

Can I have an in-person consultation with you?

I’m happy to do in-person consultations, and occasionally require it for large-scale projects. Anyone is welcome to come into the shop and inquire about a tattoo idea. Just call the shop ahead of time to confirm that I’ll be there in time for your arrival.

How much will my tattoo cost?

My minimum to book an appointment is $200. The shop minimum for a single tattoo is $100. I charge $150 per hour of tattooing. Unfortunately, I can’t always give an accurate quote, since there’s so many variables involved in how long a tattoo will take me to complete. With that being said, I’m always open to working within a budget, within reason.


Do you take walk-ins?

Occasionally. While I may not always be available for a walk-in, you can call the shop and see if I’ll be free in time for your arrival. Otherwise, I can vouch for every other artist at Yours Truly.

Are you willing to do a trade?

Absolutely! So long as it’s a fair exchange, I love a good trade, whether it be for tattoos, other services, or items. Shoot me an email with your offer and I’ll get back to you about whether or not I’d be interested in accepting the trade.

Do you mind if I bring a friend to the appointment?

Please refrain from bringing more than one guest to the tattoo appointment. For safety reasons, we ask that guests wait in the lobby for the duration of the appointment.

Do you tattoo minors with parental consent?

You must be at least 18 years old to be tattooed by me.

How do I pay for my deposit/tattoo?

You can pay the deposit via Zelle, CashApp, or Venmo. Further information will be shared via email, after receiving your booking request. Cash is appreciated for in-person consultations. As for the remainder of the cost of the tattoo, cash is required. There is an ATM at the shop.
